Golf - the rich mans hobby?

Golf was invented in 15th-century Scotland, where some of the world’s oldest golf courses are located. It is a relatively simple game that sees you using a club to hit a ball into a hole, yet it is also complex, mainly thanks to the huge size of the courses compared to the tiny balls and holes.

Golf is played with golf clubs, which come in three types: wood, iron and putters. Clubs can be expensive, but a good set of clubs will help your game, as there are differences between each one that affect how far the ball goes. A one wood (a driver) will hit the ball very much further than an eight wood, for example.

I have been golfing for 50+ years, a 6 handicap, play at least 2 times a week. This is the best ball I have ever played. I do like ProV1x but this does travel farther. It bites well on the green, and putts well. I have a 105 swing speed, so it is optimum for similar swing. I don't think I'd invest the $$'s unless you have a mid 90 to low 100 swing. I think it will take a few strokes off your game, and you will be a consistently longer off the tee.

Easily 10 yards longer than a Pro-V1 off the tee and more durable. Same good soft feel around the greens. Fly's straight and feels great off of irons. Buy a box, you won't be disappointed. Definitely worth the duckets. Shooting in the mid 80's now, shaved about 3 or 4 strokes off by switching. Current Handicap is 13.

A terrific golf ball. It is very long off the tee. I have used these balls for two rounds on a course I have played for 35 years. On 7 of the 15 driving holes I have recorded the longest drives I have ever hit on those holes. The ball has a very soft feel - comparable to Titliest Pro V1's - and grips the greens as well as anything I have played. I used to prefer ProV1s - not any more. Oh yeah, they are very durable as well. I have rotated 3 balls over 36 holes and they are still in nice usable shape (and I am fussy about that).

Tried a dozen that I got with a gift card. Compared to my usual ProV1 the 330RX is 5-10 yards longer and responds with better backspin into the greens with my 91 mph clubhead speed. I've always maintained that "nothing putts like a Titleist" but this ball does just that. I also switched to the e6+ for my 'cool weather' ball. Bridgestone is making some excellent products right now that play just as they claim. Highly recommended.

Great ball, very forgiving flight with a good amount of bite. The only con is the price is rather high, the Nike One Vapor is very simliar and costs a few bucks less.Other than that awesome ball!!

I have an average-speed swing and this tour ball flies further than any other for me, and feels great on the putting green.

Looks like someone doesn't know how to hit approach shots. This ball is NOTHING like any old Precept. It's a 4 piece ball much newer technology. In my testing, approx 10 yards longer than any ball out there off the tee if you have the right swing speed (around 110mph driver). Spin around the green is GREAT and it has nice soft feel when putting. The original 3 piece was a little harder, but with the extra mantle layer, they have perfected it. If you don't swing a driver at least 105, it's going to feel hard to you, and you won't really gain the distance because you aren't fully getting accurate compression. The 330-RX would be the ball for you; otherwise give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

Ball is exactly like the old Percept Lady. Goes off the tee, but no spin around the greens. The ball feels hard off the putter. This is an average players ball.

There are many golf tournaments in the world today, with the two most important being the professional tournaments, the Masters and the PGA Championship. Many countries also hold open tournaments that amateurs can also enter, such as the US Open and the British Open.

Probably the most famous golfer in the world today is Tiger Woods, who was won ten major golf tournaments to date, making him one of the best golfers ever. Most people think that Jack Nicklaus is the best golfer ever, as he won more tournaments than any other, but if Tiger Woods keeps playing and winning like he is for another decade or so then that could easily change.

If you want to get into golf, there are plenty of ways to learn without having to go around a full-size golf course. Many places have ‘pitch and putt’ mini-golf courses, where you can go with nothing more than a chipping club (an iron) and a putter, and play on mini-holes. Children who are not yet old enough to do this can play crazy golf, which is generally putting-only, and has fun, brightly-coloured obstacles on the course and holes which make the ball do interesting things. It’s surprising just how fun golf can be, and many kids get their start with crazy golf only to go on and play real golf as a hobby for the rest of their lives.
